| Spike_Fightwicky04-05-06, 03:41 PM | A large amount of mass of a warforged's body is composed of metal. So what happens when a rust monster touches one? Does it create a "Save or Die" scenario? The rust monster doesn't so much damage items as it does completely rust them to point of uselessness. |

The spell lasts for 1 round per level, and you can make one melee touch attack per round. Unless they had it out for the Warforged in question. |

Never even knew that spell existed :D I suppose you'd use the thing's Hit Dice for caster level?? Also, would you use the same thing for a slime touching a warforged? |

And those aren't a ferrous metal, it's a composite material that doesn't rust. (otherwise you'd need a whole batallion of troops to buff your warforged, and never mind if it rained or they fell off a boat into saltwater :P) The other types of metalic Warforged are covered in either Admantine, which is pretty much inviolate, or Mithral, which is usually considered to be a type of Silver. So it'd tarnish but not rust. Their Weapons, shields, and any other metalic equipment they're wearng would still be vulnerable, but the warforged itself is in no more danger than one of the fleshy races. |

Actually, the rust monster isn't picky. He doesn't affect "just ferrous metals", he affects all metals (steel, iron, gold, silver, adamantine, etc...). Both adamantine and mithral are both listed as being metals, so adamantine/mithral clad PCs had better steer clear. |
| Skritz_the_Lizardmen04-14-06, 04:08 PM | I used to play a warforged and i became hysteric when we thinked we where gonna fight a Rust Monster!!! Siriously, i dunno!!! Maybe he get all rusty and die, or he age... Funny Thought: Optimus Prime+Rust Monster= Megatron Laughting, since Transformer are (in my opinion) living construct!!! |
| Korhal_IV04-14-06, 04:13 PM | The Eberron Campaign Setting has rules for warforged encountering a Rust Monster - I believe it's 2d6 damage per touch attack, or something similar. |

Many types of non-ferrous metals rust, and nowhere in the description in the MM3 does it say that the composite plating does not rust |
| Hedstrong04-14-06, 08:11 PM | Really I think it's implied they don't rust in the ECS. They were soldiers, day and day out. They must have not rusted or they'd be useless. The ECS states 2d6 damage with a Reflex Save 17 for half. |
