Barbarian Undead? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-21-06, 09:27 PM let's say you had an intelligent undead creature. A vampire, say. They retain class levels. No problem so far. Also, they loose their con. score. But, what if they hav a con. based class ability, such as the barbarian's rage?

bassically, my question is: If an undead creature has no constitution score, how does this effect constitution-based class abilities?

09-21-06, 09:36 PM He rages for 3 rounds (unless he's taken Extend Rage feats to increase that), doesn't gain any extra hp for raging, doesn't improve his Fort saves, and doesn't get any other benefits the increased Con would grant (as he has none).

But the above poster is right, your con mod is effectively 0, so you rage for only 3 rounds. The upside is that you do not suffer the drawbacks for ending a rage.:)

09-22-06, 12:26 AM Don't they use their Charisma modifier instead for this sort of thing? I'd swear I read that somewhere.

09-22-06, 03:45 AM Actually, can they Rage at all? I thought it was a morale effect, which Undead are immune to. But if they could, it would be for 3 rounds, and not much of a benefit. On the plus side, at least they wouldn't be fatigued afterwards.

Technically, no it is not a morale effect. It does get lumped in with a bunch of effects that are morale effects as far as the Calm Emotions spell is concerned, however that's a case of a specific instance overriding a general ruling.
