Guyver027 04-30-07, 10:37 AM	Okay guys, have a question on combatting a dragon... It a mature adult caos dragon... I am party leader lev 12/human sorcerer. We also have a level 12 psion(multiclassed) he has a lev 10 thrall hunking hurler; a true necromancer about the same level; and a lev12 barbarian... The biggest problems we face seem to be the fact that we are short a true healer... and the necromancy obviously doesn't relly have any powerful undead, and only comands a handful... The psion and myself are pretty versatile but naturally we can't withstand any real punishment... The barbarian is a well built character and can take punishment as well as deal it out, but standing in melee alone, I don't think he will last long... We are aware the dragon has DR 10 lawful, high SR &PR, and a random breath weapon. I know this isn't a whole lot of info to go on... but, I am trying not to metagame and I am only listing what my character knows about this dragon.
ank 04-30-07, 07:27 PM	Well, there is a fourth level spell from the draconomicon for sorcerers called contigent energy resistance. It's like contingency, but only for resist energy, and is a 4rth level spell. This will help you with the breath weapon. Also, staying in charecter, your necromancer, at that level, could cast some scrying spells or the like to gather some more info, such as if or where the dragon has placed its traps. It would then be wise to send at least one undead minion in front of you to trigger such traps prematurely. Then, simply follow the #1 rule for dragonhunters: Hit em fast, hit em hard, and if things get too dicey, run like all pandemonium has broke loose.
