The BBEG at the bottom of a massive dungeon is a shell, that a god focuses its power into so it can protect a dangerous magical secret. After the destruction of the shell the four artifacts that the god focuses on to control the shell are left...
Soooooo what would the type/subtype be for that, I can't find a temple or type or sub type that works and I am tempted to make a custom one.

This could be virtually any creature, simply described as "collapsing into a shell" when it's destroyed. Some times do seem more approriate, though:


Outsider, preferably of a type that serves the deity. It could look like an idealized, diminished verion of the deity's favored form.
Construct. It could be a "living" holy symbol.


Depending on what the god's all about, other types could work as well. Or you could just make what you want and not worry about type. You're the GM; the rules exist to serve you.
