darth_sentinel 10-12-06, 08:42 PM	Hi all! I hope you can help me here, it's a very simple question actually... As I was planning an encounter with a beholder, a monster that I have never used before, I coudn't figure out if it can fire more than one ray in the same round. The description says that it can aim 3 eyes, but says nothing about firing more than one at a time. I think it's not possible, but I don't know for sure.... Thanks!
OamuTheMonk 10-12-06, 09:25 PM	The Beholder can fire each of it's ten rays in a single round. Firing each ray is a free action. It can only fire three Rays into any single 90 degree arc, and it can't fire any rays into it's antimagic cone. It can position it's cone once per round, on it's turn. It decides once per turn whether it's central (antimagic) eye is open. So during it's turn, a Beholder can move, move again or bite, fire all ten rays, then open it's central eye, positioning it in whatever direction it wants.
OamuTheMonk 10-12-06, 09:27 PM	The Gauth works pretty much the same way, except that it's central eye uses a Gaze attack, which everyone within range must save against, every round.
