Beholder disintegrate rays, secondary damage? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Simply and straitforwardly put:

Several of the eyes have secondary damage, even on a successful save (inflict moderate wounds and finger of death). Disintegrate, the spell, has 10d6 secondary damage at 13th caster level. Does a beholder's Disintegrate eye have this secondary damage? It doesn't specifically say so, while it does for the others, but then again, the Ocular Adept gets, at 5th level, the Ocular Hammer power, which is an empowered Disintegrate, which would effect only the secondary damage anyway...

I ask because, if so, the three rays that will automatically do at least some damage(Disintegrate, Finger of Death, and Inflict Mod Wounds) are a dangerous array to put up against an enemy with strong saving throws.

Spell like abilities work exactly like the associated spell unless otherwise noted, so the beholder would still do 5d6 damage against someone who saved as opposed to 26d6 damage to someone who didn't.
