beholders not in the SRD?? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-26-06, 12:33 PM This is kind of an odd question, but am I blind or are beholders absent from the SRD?

01-26-06, 12:38 PM I believe a lot of "classic" D&D monsters are left out. Anything on the SRD becomes open game content, and WotC doesn't want to give up the rights to stuff like that.

Beholders, Githerzai, Githyanki, Mindflayers (or anything illithid), and Yuan'ti I believe are all taken out.

01-26-06, 12:52 PM It's not that they forget them, but those darn monsters have an annoying habit of dissapearing from any list you place them in. :P

Hmm I can't believe I never noticed that before. Granted, I very rarely use the SRD for monsters.

That comic you linked to is hilarious. I'm gonna have to add it to my list of webcomics I addictively read. :)

Nope. Somehow managed never to come across it. And I read a LOT of webcomics too. 8 bit theater, penny arcade, pvp, ctrl-alt-delete, joe and monkey, beaver & steve, overcompensating, theater hopper, alien vs predator, vg cats, pet professional, least i could do, megatokyo, bigger than cheeses, gamics, staccato, mac hall just to name the ones I read at least weekly.

I did mention that I was an addict. ;)
