Ladies and gentlemen, humanoids and aberrations, I bring to you the vilest of the vile, disgusting... est of the disgusting. A strange and somehow fearful sight confronts you. It seems to be a large cube of swirling pieces of parchment or paper of every color. However, the mere sight of it fills you with terrible fear which shakes even your battle-toughened hearts. A song emits from it that is ghastly with its perverted beauty. It is the perfect evil festival music, and fills your minds with revulsion and legs with jelly.

Confetti swarms are the most terrible beasts from the Abyss. Originally symbols of happiness sent from Celestia, one was captured, experimented upon, and twisted and perverted by demonic magic. Although the minds and bodies of several balors are consumed in the making of a single one, the forces of the Abyss see it as a great tradeoff. These foul swarms sleeplessly hunt and hunt and hunt, requiring no sustenance but killing nonetheless. Almost nothing in the multiverse is a match for but a single twisted swarm.

Confetti swarms have a negligible weight and will always kill something sooner than speak to it.

Combat:
Confetti swarms rush towards their opponents and paralyze them. If it cannot paralyze everything it's fighting at once, it will paralyze anything it can then flee, hoping that the unparalyzed things will follow so that it can kill them without the things it's already incapacitated following. If it drops below 200 hp, it will return home, back to the Abyss.
Paralyze (Ex): Anything a confetti swarm deals damage to must make a Fortitude save (DC 76) or be paralyzed for 10d6 rounds. This swarm's power of paralyzation is so great that creatures normally immune to paralyzation are still affected. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever.
Music (Ex): The confetti in a swarm grinds against the rest to create horrible music, sounding almost happy but also scary beyond belief. Anything that comes within 100 feet of it must make a Will save (DC 63) or be paralyzed with fear for 6d6 rounds. Creatures "immune" to fear do not know what fear really is until they've heard this song, and are still vulnerable to it. This music stacks with the fear aura. Anything at all that would normally be immune to this for any reason at all is instead paralyzed with fear for 10d6 rounds. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever.
Fear Aura (Ex): Anything laying eyes on a confetti swarm or sensing it in any other way, magical or otherwise, must make a Will save (DC 63) or be paralyzed with fear for 6d6 rounds. Creatures "immune" to fear do not know what fear really is until they've seen a confetti swarm, and are still vulnerable to it. This aura stacks with the music. Anything at all that would normally be immune to this for any reason at all is instead paralyzed with fear for 10d6 rounds. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever.
Return Home: As a free action, useable even when it's not its turn, a confetti swarm can teleport to any point on any layer of the Abyss. Nothing that exists can stop it from doing this, and things that don't exist can't stop it either. If it would be killed, it instead reappears wherever it likes at any point on the Abyss. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever.
Vile Wound (Ex): A confetti swarm's swarm attack cannot be affected by any form of diminishing damage and the wounds cannot ever be healed by any means, regardless of anything. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever.
Submit: A confetti swarm does not ever under any circumstances attack any being that controls a layer of the Abyss or anything that a being that controls a layer of the Abyss does not want attacked. It will follow any command such an entity gives under any circumstances, even if obviously suicidal. This ability cannot be duplicated in any way under any circumstances, ever, though I'm not sure why you'd want to duplicate it.

just some nitpicking, the return home ability should be an immediate action, not a free. other then that... i know what my group's fighting this weekend, :D

I hope that that was a compliment, Lord Canius.

And I hope your party is about 10000000000th level, because otherwise, they're going to fall like wheat to the scythe. What's an immediate action, anyway?

Oh, I forgot. A party of first-levels could crush one of these.CR 1/10ths are weak.

an immediate action is a move you can make even when it is not your turn.

Hey, I was only doing what you told me to! Thats what you said it would do, force me to wash my eyes out with turpentine..
*sigh* Not the first time following instructions has gotten me in trouble *shudder*

No, the CR is more or less what it should be, I think.

Does that include being told about it?

Hm... Yeah. I agree with Vaa'l (name from Krede's Pond (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=574719), get over there and start roleplaying an entity of your design). Simply being told about it paralyzes with fear. However, generally only reclusive scholars know about them, as most people that find out about their existence are killed.

In order to problems: oops, I meant that, okay, I meant to remove mindless, instead of, oops I don't know how I messed up that badly, ha ha but that's not evil carnival music (think the merry-go-round in the ghost house from Mario 64), things that don't exist can't do anything let alone stop one of these babies.
