I'm thinking about making a boss in my campaign a bhaalspawn (you know... trow in some "spice" :P). If someone could point me out to anything (official or not) where I can find info about Bhaalspawns (what bonus they get, abilities, etc... that stuff) I would apreciate. Thanks in advance ;) |

Basically, it turns you into an outsider with +1 natural armor and you get additional abilities as you gain Hit Dice. However, you gain an equal number of additional flaws, which seemed much worse than any of the features of the template. It was assigned a CR and LA of +2. Personally, I'd just create a set of feats/abilities that you believe represent the Lord of Murder, than assign equivalent flaws (such as in Unearthed Arcana) or physical/mental taint effects to balance the feats. Then make a menu for the creature to choose from, and voila, instant Bhallspawn. I never read the novels, but I hold the Baldur's Gate series in high regard as one of my favorite RPGs of all time. In my opinion, the abilities and personalities of the countless Bhallspawn you encounter over the course of the adventure are far too varied to be encompassed within a single template. I suggest looking at what kind of villain you want, and then just assigning the Bhallspawn powers via DM-fiat. Unless you have a PC Bhallspawn, you don't need to worry much about balancing it, just make it a fun enemy. Anything demonic or insane pretty much fits, so go wild. If your villain is a long-term baddie, you can ever explore how far down the path of evil he falls in future encounters. |

Well yes now that you mention it I think I'll do just that, give him some abilities that seems to fit in the all "Bhaal" theme and make it a kinda wild, outsider type NPC, with some Sp abilities or even some Su. Well thanks for the advice mate, really opened a new path for my adventure! Thanks again ;) |
