| hensteeth08-04-05, 10:39 AM | Does lethal damage not work? As I read it, it looks like you can only do non lethal damage and wish/miracle. Is that right? |
| obrysii08-04-05, 12:00 PM | Uh, yeah? |
| hensteeth08-04-05, 12:48 PM | So, unless the the pcs say, i'm gonna do non lethal damage, they can swing all day long and not damage big t? Also, all damage spells have no effect either? |
| obrysii08-04-05, 12:56 PM | Correct. Do you not understand how Regeneration works? |
| ajmastrean08-04-05, 01:27 PM | So, unless the the pcs say, i'm gonna do non lethal damage Wrong... any damage of any type from any source deals nonlethal damage. The players do not have to specify nonlethal, it just happens (this is provided they can surpass his DR15/Epic). No form of attack deals lethal damage to the tarrasque |
| hensteeth08-04-05, 01:33 PM | Nope, I didn't. I just checked on srd. Thanks. |
| hensteeth08-04-05, 01:34 PM | Do they get a -4 penalty to hit? |
| ajmastrean08-04-05, 01:37 PM | Only if they specifically say they want to deal nonlethal damage with lethal weapons. Which they should not do. They will be trying to KILL the Tarrasque despite it's regeneration (whether the PCs actually know anything about that or not). Why would you TRY to deal nonlethal? The T merely converts all damage to nonlethal automatically. It has nothing to do with HOW you attack it. |
| Cam S.08-04-05, 01:38 PM | No...Damage is converted to subdual upon contact. There is no subtraction from attack bonus--The Tarrasque is not quite THAT invincible, despite being made of the stuff (that is to say, invincible.) |
| ajmastrean08-04-05, 01:44 PM | I think the question was... Do the players have to SAY they are dealing nonlethal damage (with lethal weapons), therefore taking the -4 penalty, as per the rules. And the answer is NO! The Tarrasque is simply dealt only nonlethal damage from any attack. It's not a matter of whether the players are saying so. |
| hensteeth08-04-05, 01:44 PM | Thanks everyone! |
