This can be used as a spell-like ability 3/day times per day. Sleep - Once per day, as a spell like ability, the Black Waltz can cast sleep, caster level equal to x2 the Black Waltz's HD. Summon Sealion: Once per week, the Black Waltz can summon a beast called Sealion (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=12448573#post12448573). Sorcerous: A Black Waltz can cast spells as a sorcerer, caster level equal to its natural HD (not HD gained from taking character classes). |
| Rerecros05-20-07, 05:30 PM | I would make it an elemental (cold) with some racial HD and cast spells like a sorcerer. And give it the energy substitution feat (cold) from CAr. |
| captianhowdy05-20-07, 05:35 PM | Ill look all that up and see what i can do. |
| Banatine05-21-07, 05:28 AM | I don't think that the waltzes needed to eat or sleep. For all the extra power they had, they were not like vivi (but i don't even think vivi had to eat), still dolls with pre-programmed commands. They were just intelligent. I also think that the waltzes should have much higher damage reduction, natural armour, and spell resistance. Remember they were exceptionally powerful, and designed to be better than the mages. I would also increase the fly speed to 60 (good), since that is what most PC with flight would have. I also think that waltz 1 was significantly more powerful than a 1st lvl sorcerer. |

Hence the Living Construct subtype. |
| Banatine05-21-07, 07:25 AM | I know they should be living constructs, I'm just saying they shouldn't need to eat or sleep, and should be immune to fatigue and stuff. Truth be told, i don't know a great deal about the living construct type. |

Truth be told, i don't know a great deal about the living construct type. Ummm... they don't need to eat or sleep and they aren't affected by fatigue. |
| Banatine05-21-07, 07:40 AM | Ummm... they don't need to eat or sleep and they aren't affected by fatigue. No, but: "The Black Waltz has the Living Construct type except as following: It must still eat, breathe, and sleep, No immunity to sleep effects, fatigue, or exhaustion, and are affecting normally by being reduced to 0 hitpoints. However, it heals naturally and benefit from healing spells fully." And i don't think that the waltzes should need to eat, sleep or breath, as well as lose the immunities. I don't mind keeping the ability to heal naturally, but then waltz #3 didn't seem to be able to, and considering he was the most advanced of the 3... |
| fiendish_platypus05-21-07, 07:59 AM | Oh, well I thought you were just talking about the subtye, not what (s)he posted. Gotcha. And I have no clue what the poo a Black Waltz is, so this all seems pretty stupid to me, probably some final fantasy pooey stuff... And from what you say, maybe the three Waltzes should be different? |
| Banatine05-21-07, 08:17 AM | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zidane_Tribal#The_Black_Waltzes They are all differant. There is the wiki page on the black waltzes, just in case your interested. |
| captianhowdy05-21-07, 11:53 AM | Alright, some edits have been made. Hows it look now? |
| fiendish_platypus05-21-07, 01:48 PM | There ar currently no DCs for any of the abilities. Also, the sorcerous ability confuses me. So it/they/whatever gets sorcerer spells as a sorcerer whose level is equal to their HD? So what if they gain levels in fighter (for simplicities sake), say four levels. So now they have 8 HD (4 racial, 4 fighter levels) does that mean they cast spells as an eighth level sorcerer? |
| captianhowdy05-21-07, 02:07 PM | good point, it will be fixed. Sorry bout all the stuff, noob at makin creatures |
