Sapphire dragon, with breath weapon of purple flame that turns people to sapphire statues, then animates them zombie-style. So, I'm creating a draconic version of the gigant to use on my players. Maybe you can use it too. As it's an oriental dragon in appearance, I'll be bouncing it off the lung dragons and maybe the Oceanus or Styx. Blackstone Dragon Huge Dragon Hit Dice: 32d12+256 (368 hp) Intiative: +4 Speed: 40 ft. Armor Class: 40 (-2 size, +32 natural) Base Attack/Grapple: +32/ +57 Attack: Bite +48 melee (2d8+14) Full Attack: Bite +48 melee (2d8+14) and tail slap +45 melee(2d6+21) Space/Reach: 15 ft./15 ft. Special Attacks: Breath weapon Special Qualities: Dragon traits, animate sapphire, DR 15/adamantine and magic, SR 32, soot sleep, regeration 1, statue state, frightful presence (DC 36) Saves: Fort +26, Ref +18, Will +26 Abilities: Str 45, Dex 10, Con 27, Int 24, Wis 27, Cha 26 Skills: ((Skills to be put in later)) Feats: Power Attack, Improved Sunder, Ability Focus(breath weapon), Multiattack, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Initiative, Combat Reflexes, Improved Critical (bite), Weapon Focus (bite) CR: ((To be put in later)) Breath Weapon: A 50 ft. cone of petrifying flame(Fort DC 36). Those who fail their save are transformed into inanimate sapphire statues, similar to transmute flesh to stone. The statues count as stone and crystal both, for purposes as spell effects. Animate Sapphire: As the Blackstone Gigant's animate statue ability. Only affects statues it has created. It lasts until the dragon sleeps. Soot Sleep: The dragon is actually a magical artifact, indestructable, but it can be put to sleep, transforming it into a simple Tiny statuette. To do so, the dragon must be suffocated with soot, or recieve enough fire damage to "kill" it. Regeneration: The blackstone dragon takes subdual damage from ALL sources, however, death by fire damage or suffocation by soot will transform it into a harmless Tiny statuette. Statue state: Becomes an inanimate stone object, until such time as it is cleaned to a crystal shine, at which point it animates. Requires a Craft(jeweler) check, DC 15. Can be done untrained. Once activated, it transforms into its dragon form in one round. |
| isaac_the_mauler01-24-04, 10:50 AM | i was watchin cartoons today, but i was watching shaman king. it looks pretty good but artifacts can be destroyed. there is a 95% chance of a diety or someone else more powerfull than they are wanted it and wants revenge. i noticed that there was no CR. i would set it to around 20. it is very similar to the tarrasque |
