Blade Golem, source info requested [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-03-06, 12:43 AM As I recall in 2e material, a 'Blade Golem' was linked to bladelings in Acheron. I don't recall where the stats for a blade golem were given in 2e however, or if they've appeared at all in 3.x.

*grins a mouthful of fangs*

Stats are almost superfluous for me, as flavor text trumps them any day in my book, so if anyone knows where in 2e they were described I'd be very appreciative*.

02-03-06, 02:52 AM I know you are looking more for flavor text than stats, but I haven't run across them in my digging into all my planescape stuff. My magazine indexes seem to indicate that there was a Blade Golem as a creature in Polyhedron #75. Only problem is that this was 1992, and the happy box of Planescape didn't pop up 'till 1994.

As far as 3.0 goes, a number of Blade Golems showd up in the WotC adventure Lord of the Iron Fortress, which makes sense as

The adventure involves storming a masive fortress/forge in Acheron

I know, dumb spoiler, but some folks get touchy about these things.

My magazine indexes seem to indicate that there was a Blade Golem as a creature in Polyhedron #75. Only problem is that this was 1992, and the happy box of Planescape didn't pop up 'till 1994.

*nodding* I'll see if I can't find a copy of that to take a look. I was just curious since some of the Planescape material on the bladelings mentioned blade golems, but the PS material didn't detail them specifically. I figured they'd been detailed elsewhere in 2e, and if so I wasn't aware of it being that I never played till 3e, which hamstrings my 2e'fu in that case.
