Reisar 08-12-05, 02:17 PM	For those of you who don't know what Bliss Motes are, maybe you shouldn't know......for the rest of you- lemme throw this adventure idea past you, tell me what you think. I've created a small island in my campaign that only has 2 forms of life, endless flowers, (that I'm calling Purple Succubus) and millions and millions of Bliss Motes. The flowers cover the entire ground of the island, and their pollen is everywhere, creating a purple haze around the island. The pollen is poisonous, (Breathing it requires a FORT save DC 20, initial damage is 1d4 WIS, and secondary is an effect like as if you were on Extacy, (not that anyone should be doing extacy) heightening your sense of touch and producing euphoia. This poison cannot reduce your WIS to less than 1. You must make a FORT save for every round you breath the Purple Succubus's pollen. Part 2 of the Island is the Bliss Motes, they feed off of the pollen and are not affected by it--but they're still Bliss Motes and do all the things that Bliss Motes like to do. Adventure: the characters are hired (for a great sum of money I might add) to rescue a wealthy family's son, who was on a ship destined for somewhere else but got caught in a storm. He ends up on this island, and although his ship is still in tact, he doesn't WANT to leave, and is slowly starving to death. The characters, have no knowledge of what is on the island, unless they ask around at a nearby sailor's pub and listen to "tall tales" told by local fishermen and maybe pirates. Naturally, the characters may get caught in the same predicament as the family's son, and slowly starve to death themselves. What do you think? Should I add something/change something? What would you do if you were the character?
Algorithm_X 08-12-05, 02:59 PM	That would be a very challenging adventure indeed. I imagine very few beings come back from that island. To make it more interesting why not this place be a divine get away (like vacation home) for a god or goddess of love and/or pleasure (or one of their proxies). The kinda place though not evil, is too overwhelming for mere mortal. Of course the god, godess or proxy is not here right now... As a side note, if it wasn't for the purple succubus pollen this island would have a lot of birds too, because such a concentration Bliss Mote make a great food source for birds. I imagine their relationship on this island is a symbiotic relationship gone riot. For those who would like to be familiar with bliss mote and are old enough to acquire the referance material, here is the location of their creature entry: Bliss Motes: page # 147 Book of Erotic Fantasy For those of you not familiar with the Book of Erotic Fantasy; Book of Erotic Fantasy is to Sex, as Book of Exalted Deeds is to Good or the Book of Vile Darkness is to Evil. It is a very good book in my opinion, though it covers the topic to the same depth of extremes as the two books I compared it do with their topics.
Kothardarastrix 08-12-05, 08:24 PM	Way to use Book of Erotic Fantasy! Yes good artwork, though most DMs are too afraid to buy it saying it's 'perverted', I beleive it is if you choose to perceive it as so.
