| MantraSong01-01-05, 08:54 PM | This is my first attempt at making a template. I wanted something somewhat unusual to throw at my low-level wilderness-oriented campaign, so I designed this... A blood beast is an animal that, by some foul form of magic, has mutated into a blood-hungry beast. "Blood beast" is an acquired template that can be applied to any animal. A blood beast uses all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities except as noted here. Size and type - The animal increases one size category, and type becomes magical beast, base attack becomes equal to the total HD, saves and skill points are unchanged. HD: Increase all current and future HD to d10s Attack: A blood beast retains all natural attacks, and gains a bite attack as a primary weapon if it doesn't already have one; if it does, the base creature uses the value on the table, or its own bite attack, whichever is bigger Size: Damage: Fine: 1d2 Dim: 1d2 Tiny: 1d3 Small: 1d6 Med: 1d8 Large: 1d12 Huge: 2d6 Garg: 2d8 Special qualities: Attach:If the blood beast hits with its bite attack, it latches on to its opponent's body and automatically deals bite damage each round it remains attached. An attached blood beast looses its dex bonus to AC. A blood beast can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. To remove an attached beast though grappling, the opponent much achieve a pin against the creature Darkvision: The creature gains darkvision out to 60 ft Abilities: Change from base creature: Str +2, Int +2, Dex +2, Cha -2 CR: Increases by +1 Feedback is good :) |
