| Gorrath11-28-05, 01:55 PM | It doesn't specify if he can grapple things bigger than it's size(he is medium)...does that means he can grapple anything with his tantacles? We fought against some of those monstres yesterday and I got grappled and got some of my bones drinked :( Then our mage cast mass enlarge with his staff of size alteration...our DM didn't know if the bone drinker would be able to keep his grapple on me now that I was large? or if he could start a grapple against a larger opponent? | cwslyclgh11-28-05, 05:42 PM | you can always grapple an opponent that is larger then you, it is just more difficult, that is what the grapple bonus based upon size represents. now although they can grapple any creature, many creatures with improved grab can not make use of that ability against creatures that are of above a certain size catagory (for a lot of creatures this is 1 size catagory smaller then themselves, but not for all of them, the individual descriptions in thier combat stat block will tell you if this is so). Since a Bonedrinkers improved grab text makes no mention of this limitation they can use improved grab against any opponent regardless of size. |

| OamuTheMonk11-28-05, 07:35 PM | Which is why, on your next Grapple check, you would have an additional +6 added to your modifier (from the enlarge person strength [+2] and size [+4] bonuses) to help you escape. That's how it works. |
