Bone Ooze and elementals [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-29-04, 02:52 AM For the bone oozes attack that is the fortitude save vs death becasue the ooze rips your skeleton from you. Would an elemental be immune to that ability seeing as how I don't think that they have skeletal systems?

Guess it just gobbles undead right down?

11-29-04, 07:07 AM Exoskeletons aren't usually made of bone, so a bone ooze might not be able to affect them (depending on how you interpret its spehre of influence).

As written, affecting anything without a skeleton (not an exoskeleton) wouldn't fit the logic. You can't tear the skeleton out of something with no skeleton in the first place. Anyone without a skeleton doesn't need to worry about this feature of the bone ooze.

A similar creature, the boneyard (from Libris Mortis), specifically excludes such creatures, but for the earlier bone ooze, you just need to do what makes sense. :)
