| Pystian07-02-03, 11:43 AM | I've tweaked this again. It still shows the signs of a lot of help from L337_Monkey and Shadowfoot. Bonsai Treant Tiny Plant Hit Dice: 1d8+1 (5 hp) Initiative: +0 Speed: 5 ft. AC: 15 (+2 size, +3 natural,) Attacks: 2 Slams +0 melee Damage: Slam 1d3-2 Face/Reach: 2 1/2 ft./0 ft. Special Attacks: Animate bonsai, Calm Emotions Special Qualities: Plant, fire vulnerability, DR 5/slashing Saves: Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3 Abilities: Str 6, Dex 10, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 13, Cha 11 Skills: Hide +12, Knowledge (nature) +4, Listen +5, Sense Motive +5, Spot +5, Survival +5 Feats: Iron Will, Climate/Terrain: Any forest Organization: Solitary or grove (4-7) Challenge Rating: 1/2 Treasure: None Alignment: Always neutral good Advancement: 2-3 HD (Tiny); 4 (Small); or by class LA: +2 Bonsai Treants, also known as Treantkin or Entlings, speak Treant. Those that are smarter than average may also pick up Sylvan or the language of a nearby race. Animate Bonsai (Sp): A Bonsai Treant can animate bonsai within 60 feet at will, controlling one bonsai in such a manner at a time. It takes a full round for a normal bonsai to uproot itself. Thereafter it moves at a speed of 5 and fights as a bonsai treant in all respects. Animated bonsai lose their ability to move if the Treantkin who animated them is incapacitated or moves out of range. The ability is otherwise similar to a Liveoak as cast by a 6th-level druid. Calm Emotions: Once per day, Bonsai Treants may cast Calm Emotions on a single target as though they were a sixth level Cleric. Plant: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, and polymorphing. Not subject to critical hits. Fire Vulnerability (Ex): Entlings takes an extra 50% damage from fire. Skills: Bonsai Treant receive skills as though they were fey. They have a +16 racial bonus to Hide checks made in forested areas as well as a +8 size bonus to Hide checks. Bonsai Treants as PCs: Entlings occasionally chose the life of an adventurer. Many become Druids, though Bards, Monks, and Rangers are common as well. If playing in an OA setting, Inkyo Treantkin will also likely be found. Their favored class is Druid. |
| Namfoodle Sparklegem07-05-03, 06:10 PM | Funny idea, I thought bonsais were man-made, 'mutilated' trees. Then what would these creatures be? But I'm not sure... |
| R.M.G.C.L.F.07-05-03, 07:44 PM | It might help if you list how much a bonsai (tree, not treant) would cost, so that a bonsai treant PC would be able to purchase some instant cohorts. |
