As I found out the other day, certain material such as mind flayers are Product Identity - that is, since they aren't an archtype like goblins and ogres, they won't be in such things as the SRD and are actually protected by copyright. Since the Brainstealer Dragon was in an issue of Dragon and not the MM, and is not a fantasy staple, and is protected by copyright, it can't be posted.
