Breath weapon recharge time [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-15-04, 09:48 AM If a dragon breathes fire, for example, the MM states that it can do so once every 1d4 rounds. If I roll 1d4 and it comes out as a "1", does that mean that the dragon can use its breath weapon again the following round? Or it must always spend at least one round "recharging"?

10-15-04, 10:18 AM It spends a round recharging. And it's 1d4 rounds between each breath, not a single roll to be reused over and over again. After spending half this month screaming at people in a haunted house I'm working at, it's easy to see that some breaths take more out of you then others.
