| claytonian04-04-04, 08:28 PM | are breath weapons supposed to overcome a creature's SR to have any effect? I wonder because breath weapons don't seem to work in antimagic fields. If a creature has DR of 10/magic, does the breath weapon break through that DR? basically, is a breath weapon magic? |
| wdarkk04-04-04, 11:24 PM | A breath weapon is Supernatural. This means: 1) It doesn't care about DR. DR only works against physical attacks. 2) Hardness affects it normally, since hardness works against all damage unless specifically exempted. 3) It is negated in an antimagic field, just as many things that aren't magic (such as Psionic powers in default psionics games). 4) It does not need to overcome SR, since it is not a spell or spell-like ability. |
