im building a dragon pc only campaing with some friends of mine... i am thinking of starting the campaing from Wyrmling but so far i need a lot of good ideas... let me tell u what i got so far...

There is a land only reachable for dragons its a paradise built by dragon many centuries ago to take care of their spawns... this valley its green a sorounded by montains... only Metalic Dragons live here, there are a few Adult or older dragons in the valley but none of them really take care of other's childrens.

In this valley its a cave where orphan dragon eggs go to hatch... from orphan gold dragon to abandoned Brass Dragon eggs... in this cave hatches the party (lol)

beyond the limits of this valley its the adventure, other races, other dragon (cromatic for example).

in this valley are some guardians but the biggest its a lake right near the nest.

what do u think so far?

Maybe you can make tha valley a guardian zone or an combination of guardian zones, one for each color.

When designing the land in your valley keep in mind that different dragons have different preffered enviroments. A brass dragon won't feel at home on green fields.

Also, try if you can get the Council of Wyrms. Its a 2Ed campaign setting for dragon PCs. You might find some ideas in there.

*bump*

Yep, keep in mind the preferred climate of the young wyrmlings... Also, how does the rest of the world see Dragons? Are they hated? Feared? Considered legend or extinct? That'll matter when the young Dragons eventually decide to leave their home.

In "Help me develop a Dragon culture" thread below. Important stuff is to think on cultural mores, courting, religious practices, and the like when dealing with such things.

Also whether it is completely isolated or occasionally does interact with the outside world

A couple of things I would do:

1. I would make it a massive island... Shaped like said valley... It is ringed with high mountains, with snow etc... and plummets down to a valley floor with lush warmth etc... So you can stick various species terrains in the area etc... From space the thing would look like a nature made crown of sorts.

2. I would thing the "Colony" is heavily protected/warded... At least with a forbiddance spell or two around.

Now as for conflict... Obviously you're going to want some Chromatic Dragon's pokin' around...

I would do something along the lines of somekind of item... Throne, orb, great staff, fountain, bowling ball, stuffed animal (Whatever). That controls the wards, and powers them...

Then once the party has gotten through all the fun little stuff... Learning to use their breath for the first time... Figuring out how to fly... Why it's bad to poop in the Colony's water supply... Etc...

I would set it up, somehow so that the party... Or one member of the party... With out realizing it until it's too late... Screws up the delicate magic of the "Thing" controlling the wards...

BOOM the wards drop...
The Colony is now vulnerable... They try to hide their weakness... But in someway tied to the party... The Chromatics in the area find out...

Being tired of the Metallic Menace... They band together, and attack the Colony...

Picture huge Dragon Battle at night in the skies over head...

Party escapes... But the Chromatics have taken the item... Party now has huge guilt and motivation to go after the Chromatics... Get back the Item, and rebuild the colony.

At least that's what I'd do...

Just my two coppers...

It's called "Council of Wyrms" and the setting was a massive collection of islands that probably took up a quarter of the globe, if not half. Each of the 15 dragon species had their own collectin of islands, along with a single island in the approximate center that was "neutral ground" and unclaimed by any of the dragon species.

I've got the box, all the books and sheets that came with it. Sorry, not for sale.

thanx all for your advise...

i readed carefully all your opinions i ll take some of them...

So far this its what i got, i created a whole plane with help from the Plane Rule Book, this plane have three layers
One, the metallic Dragons Layer its build like a Demi Plane with direc access only to Celestia (Bahamut's Plane) and the medium layer. This demi plane's ethereal and astral plane have no comunication to the rest of the multiverse. The same happens with the Cromatic's plane.
The middle plane its where all mortal normal races live, this layer have comunication with the rest of the multiverse.
The last layer its Tiamats spawns layer, its particulary evil and have a direct comunication with tiamat's home and middle layer only in the same fashion of GoodDragon's layer.
My PC will begin in good layer each one will hatch in one site in the layer that is proper for their type. Once they hatch they will find them selves in a lonely situation: lets say all spawns will have no place to go. Not all have tragic begining but are alone.
Cromatics are planning an invasion to the metallic layer, first they will send some scouts then they will find a path and third will invade. The metallic's layer its GOOD so there are no evil people around, they only evil people here are scouts, they have been carefull enought to avoid detection, they cover on the hubrids of the metallic's guardians that doesnt expect to someone to DARE steping here without a huge army.
Party its join together because they dont have their Draconic Hubrids develop so they will see this scout's trail and will face the desception and rejection of the olders when they try to explain that some evils have passed the Great Wall of the Realm.
