| Lord_Canius02-07-06, 09:01 PM | I doubt it, I dont think items can take class levels, nor do they have hit die per se. And when I say per se, I mean, items got hit points, but you dont roll them. So basicaly, no, no feats for items. |
| Melpomene02-07-06, 10:57 PM | If it's got HD and intellegence, it gets feats. |
| mvincent02-08-06, 06:41 PM | If it's got HD and intellegence, it gets feats.Where is that rule from? (and thank you for spelling feats correctly) |
| Melpomene02-08-06, 11:43 PM | Monster Manual 3.5, somewhere (it's in my car at the moment). |
| mvincent02-09-06, 04:03 PM | Intelligent Flying Carpet of Welcome: As a large construct, who is intelligent, does it get feats? An animated object does not start with feats or skill points, same thing with an intelligent magic item (other than any skills that are rolled up). Combining them should not change this. Even awakened (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/awaken.htm) things don't get to add feats immediately. However, although an animated object cannot be advanced by adding HD, I suppose it could gain character levels (ask your DM), and so could be advanced as normal that way (including gaining feats). |
| obrysii02-09-06, 08:26 PM | Anything with Int 3 or higher can take classes. Anything that can take classes can inherently take feats. |
| PerennialRook02-11-06, 12:29 PM | When they made the errata for MMII they changed the Nimblewright to have normal HD based feats instead of all it's feats being bonus feats as it was origionally in 3rd Ed. If the item was both animated and intelligent from creation (making it an intelligent construct) shouldn't it have feats? |
| mvincent02-11-06, 01:09 PM | If the item was both animated and intelligent from creation (making it an intelligent construct) shouldn't it have feats? If the item was created as a new invention, then likely yes (in fact, it could have pretty much anything). Though as a new creature (or item) this is outside of the core SRD rules, so I couldn't help there. However, I believe the OP was simply casting animate object/permanency on an intelligent magic item (flying carpet). In this case, strictly speaking (by RAW, core SRD) no feats would be added. |
