Some prc's in Complete Arcane have requirements of caster level instead of "being able to cast spells of x level". I see some abuse here, particulary with the acolite of the skin

That was to give warlocks the chance to enter the prc. However, this also means that a LOT of monsters can enter the prc's, too

Death slaadis acolytes of the skin, anyone?

This also means that some "pc" races can enter those prc?s without having leves on a spellcasting class. Githzerai , for example, can qualify really easy for acolite of the skin, since they have spell-like abilities (MM githzerai, no XPH)

I'm right or not?

It would appear so, yes. I wouldn't consider it a problem, since all PrCs and character-builds are subject to DM-approval, and the DM should follow the spirit of the prestige class.

Any DM that would create a Death Slaad Acolyte of the Skin would probably not be someone I'd like to play with :)

What is it with all this acolyte of the skin talk I have been seeing? Is there a new progression I am not aware of that's represented in CA? How is this any different from the crap posted in tome and blood? Can anyone please give me some insight? Thanks

AotS is reprinted with changes in CA, if you want to know the differences go and check the Complete Arcane.
