calculating dice damage [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-21-07, 08:58 PM hello there creature creators.

Im DMing my first game soon, and a player is making an uber dmg monk. he has employed a feat from here, a magic item from there, and a prestige class from somewhere else, all of which change his unarmed damage dice. i raided the MM, but couldnt find a dice preogression table that came anywhere near where this guys damage is. i know this isnt really a monster question, but i figured you guys were the best people to ask about something like this, as you would have the most experience and knowlede of improving and designing monsters, which is where most of the unarmed damage rules a situated.

if anyone could please help me, i would be greatly appreciative.

IMPROVED NATURAL ATTACK [GENERAL]

Prerequisite: Natural weapon, base attack bonus +4.

Benefit: Choose one of the creature’s natural attack forms. The damage for this natural weapon increases by one step, as if the creature’s size had increased by one category: 1d2, 1d3, 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 2d6, 3d6, 4d6, 6d6, 8d6, 12d6.

A weapon or attack that deals 1d10 points of damage increases as follows: 1d10, 2d8, 3d8, 4d8, 6d8, 8d8, 12d8.

Special: A creature can gain this feat multiple times. Each time it applies to a different natural attack.

01-22-07, 12:37 AM Thank you very much, that was exactly what i was lookig for. i had entirely misses the footnote which indefinitely expanded the table.

01-23-07, 04:28 AM You're very welcome. I keep a link to the SRD on my toolbar in Firefox just for the sake of looking up rules and stats on the fly while I'm at my computer. ;)
