Night rain is formed from the minds of the heartbroken as they cry themselves to sleep. The misery becomes a real thing within their minds, their dreams filled with a horrible sadness. When the sleeper awakes the flow of tears is freed and wafts from from one dream to another. On rare occassions the dreamer will awake, bringing the dream with it into the waking world.

Night rain wafts along the ground in a permament gloom, appearing as anything from a light drizzle to a torrential downpour. However, when it senses the aproach of a nearby creature the form compacts greatly to meet it. Shadows seem to move within, but are only half-formed dream scenes taking shape and then almost immediately disolving.

In the waking world they rarely last more than a single night, disolving into nothingness at the first touch of sunlight.

Night Rain can telepathically understand any closeby creature, though cannot respond in turn.

Combat
Night Rain are instinctively attracted to thinking creatures and often masquerading as a simple storm, using their psionic abilities to further enhance this illusion. They then approach and seek to trap their victims within themselves, feeding off their sadness.

Anguished Soul (Ps): Those who begin their round within a Night Rain must succeed on a DC 19 will save each round or take 1d4 points of Charisma damage, or half that amount (minimum 1 point) on a successful save as they succumb to great sadness. A target that fails its save is also dazed for 1 round. If this score is reduced to 3 or less the victim must make an additional save each round to keep from attempting to commit suicide as the Death Urge power. This is a mind-affecting effect. The save DC's are Charisma based.

Benumbed (Ex):
Night rain is immune to despair and fear effects, as well as any kind of morale penalty.

Born of Dream (Ex):
As a being of dream, Night Rain appears hazy and out of focus, such that all melee and ranged attacks are assessed a 20-percent miss chance. This 20-percent miss chance is not the same as concealment.

Blinded by Tears (Su): Living creatures with eyes within ten feet of a nightrain must make a DC 17 fortitude save to avoid being blinded by their own tears as sadness envelopes them. The tears last for as long as the victim is within range. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Macabre Attraction (Su):
The exquisite sadness within a Night Rain is appalingly attractive. Those who begin their turn within a Night Rain must succeed on a DC 17 fortitude save or actively attempt to stay within its boundaries. Those who make the save are immune to the attraction for 24 hours. This is a mind-affecting effect. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Psi-like Abilities:
At will - False Sensory Input; 3/day - Aversion, Destiny Dissonance, Empathic Feedback. Manifester level 10th. Save DC's are Charisma-based.
