Cambions were beings with one parent human, and the other a devil. In 3.5, that would be a human with the Half-Fiend (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/halfFiend.htm) template. That's the official "Cambion" The folks at Dicefreaks have a "Marquis Half-Fiend" template in Chapter 4 of The Gates of Hell; go over to their message boards to find a link. That's unofficial material, of course.
Wolf72 05-15-06, 05:45 PM	I think the 1/2-Fiend template was an attempt to cover those pesky half-demon critters ... alu-fiend, cambion ... it works pretty well, if you want a more normal type ... try using the fiendish template. Fiendish Humans might qualify as regular cambions, with the Half-Fiendish variety being the higher caste ...

To clarify earlier replies: Cambions were half-fiends, specifically the male offspring of male Tanar'ri (not devils) and mortal females. There were different types of cambions (Major and Baron/Marquis) depending on what type of Tanar'ri was the father. 3e just has a single one size fits all approach to half-fiends, which is lamentable and at times illogical. Just alter the template to correspond to the abilities accorded to them in the Planescape Monstrous Compendium, or all the way back in the older 1e source if you want to.
IrishRover 05-16-06, 11:45 AM	I suspect that, next month, we'll have all the guidance we need for half-demons, when the fiendish book comes out (I can't recall its exact title.)
