Not familiar with this; I assume it's either a feat or a PrC. If so, I would say yes.

No. :noway: A paladin's special mount is a separate creature. Folding it into the paladin's abilities nets a huge bonus in HD and stats. No way.

Sorry, but NO to both as RAW.

The fact that a centaur is 1/2 "horse" with four legs has nothing to do with being "mounted". If the centaur were to take ANY advantages for being mounted, whether it was from feats or abilities, it would have to be ON a mount.

If you were to make any exceptions for a centaur, then you have to make up separate rules for other hybrid looking or monstrous creatures with four legs and 2 arms. There's plenty of creatures that aren't horse hybrids that have 4 or more legs with 2 or more arms that cannot use "mounted" rules.

You could house rule anything you want, but it doesn't change the base set of rules.

I'm running a (rather high-powered) greek game with a centaur PC in it currently. I allow him to qualify for modified feats as if he were mounted, such as ride by attack (requiring dodge and mobility, but being more powerful than spring attack)

Subsequently, he hasn't asked me about cavalry charger, but I'd require him to have Dodge, Mobility, Ride-by-Attack (or Spring Attack), and Improved Overrun or Centaur Trample.

But the abilities granted by the feat aren't as good as simply taking leap attack, so its not that big of a "leap"

If my centaur takes paladin levels high enough to get a mount I'd make substitution levels, maybe giving him a fighter bonus feat or a bonus centaur feat (probably 3 or 4 spread out over the last 15 levels), but nothing like extra Hit Dice or mounty goodness.

He wouldn't of course miss out on a class ability simply because he's playing a non-humanoid.

Paladins are underpowered anyway.
