Can A Dog Hear A Darkmantle's High-Frequency Sounds? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-28-04, 02:45 PM The MM (v3.5, page 38) states that a darkmantle can "see" by emitting a high-frequency sound that MOST creatures can't hear. Would it be correct to assume that a dog could hear it? TIA for any answers or input that you can give me.

04-28-04, 03:39 PM I would doubt it, usually stuff like that is VERY VERY high frequency; I'm pretty sure that it would PROBABLY be out of a dog's range of hearing.

However, it's worth asking weather a bat would be able to hear it, because bats do the same thing, with seeing via echolocation and stuff.
