Can a young dragon become a dracolich? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-21-05, 08:16 PM I was thinking it would be cool to have that as a form of punishment for a young dragon that betrays its master/parent, since that way it cant grow anymore.

05-21-05, 09:04 PM Yeah, but that wouldn't really be a limit to it's power.
It would get a power BOOST from the template, and could then simply take class levels in things like Sorcerer or Druid to overcome the lack of age related benefits.

05-21-05, 10:37 PM A Young Dracolich would remain at the Young age catagory forever...it'll be no where near the power of a Great Wyrm (of similar age to it) unless it takes quite a few class levels.

Sure, you can't age anymore, but you get many other powers and you can still take class levels.

Good dragons would never do this and evil dragons would reserve lichdom for themself and not use it as punishment.

05-22-05, 04:53 PM Say, normal lich's need to have so and so much spellcaster power don't they? (level 10 or so). I don't have any books nearby, but isn't it like this for Dragons too? Young dragons aren't usually as potent spellcasters yet.
