Can elementals be afflicted with Lycanthropy? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Can elementals be afflicted with Lycanthropy or mummy rot?

04-02-04, 01:19 PM Elementals cannot contract Lycanthropy, it only affects humanoids and giants (just look at the template).
IIRC they can still be effected by other diseases such as mummy rot.

04-02-04, 04:03 PM That seems a touchy issue, maybe up to the DM - I can see elementals being affected by magical diseases (it doesn't, after all, say that they're immune to disease, only just about everything else that affects biological creatures, which they're not). But if it were up to me I wouldn't consider them able to be affected by nonmagical diseases, after all, they don't have the same kind of flesh other creatures have. I'd place them closer to golems in that respect.
