| TheCrawlingSpleen10-15-06, 09:16 PM | All the creatures I have ever seen described as "fiends" are Outsiders with the Evil subtype, with the exception of Rakshasas, which the Eberron Campaign Setting seems to imply are fiends. Due to the example of the Rakshasa, I would say that any Outsider with an "always" evil alignment qualifies as a fiend. Thus, Night Hags are fiends, as are demons, devils, 'loths, Rakshasas and maybe even Efreet (gotta love them evil genies). This, of course, is all just my opinion, and I encourage you to get someone else's input. Hope some of that helps! |

Less commonly used on evil Outsiders native to there planes (such as Xills, Rakshasas, or Salamanders). Efreeti are usually more strongly thought of as genies that fiends, though they could be considered as such. |

Any evil Outsider native to one of the Lower Planes: the Abyss, Carceri, the Gray Waste, Gehenna, Baator, Acheron, Pandemonium. As natives of Acheron, Rakshasas are fiends. |
