| Baned09-13-06, 11:09 AM | What are some good creatures to throw at a 1st level party, besides the typical goblins & kobolds? I'm looking for humanoid creatures, and maybe some lower leveled dire creatures. |
| CryoSilver09-13-06, 11:22 AM | Dire rats, skeletons, zombies, tarrasque, wolves, monstrous spiders. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata09-13-06, 12:03 PM | Encounter Level Calculator (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/ELCALC/Welcome.asp) that should help you out some. |
| Baned09-13-06, 12:14 PM | Dire rats, skeletons, zombies, tarrasque, wolves, monstrous spiders. Yeah, every starting party has the capacity to drop the big T. (Yes, I know you're joking ;) ) Seriously though, that's a good list, but I'm looking for humanoid, preferably still living. |
| CryoSilver09-14-06, 12:06 AM | Humans, evil gnomes (but aren't they all?), drow, grimlocks, dretches. |
| Velcro Zipper09-14-06, 12:45 AM | I used a single Doppleganger against a 1st level party of three players in a murder/mystery type adventure and it went pretty well. Other humanoids that work well at low level are: Kenku MM3 Grimlocks MM Gibberlings MoF Bullywugs MoF (one of my favorites) Sivs Mof Low-Level NPC classes Low-Level Adventurers |
