Feats

Due to its centaur-like construction, a zelekhut qualifies for feats as if it had the Mounted Combat feat.

12-07-05, 10:00 PM but Seriously, i fail to see what could be a good mount for a centaur.. it would have to be very, very big, and still be useless since the Centaur/pal is his own mount.
Maybe change that for a "holy familliar" critter, with the bonuses the Pal gives to its mount it would be quite powerfull for a familliar and keeps its usefulness.

So... for instance... a Celestial Elephant would work.

imagine a few more steps.. a pixie who is riding on a halfling, who is riding a centaur, who is rinding a elephant...

And IMO, if said centaur can do that, his oversized mount can really be a killing machine.

Instead of summoning an mount, have him summon a Rider. I seem to remember having a discusion along these lines with someone who managed to gain paladin class levels with an awakened warhorse.

Goofy situations result in more goofiness. Although this does actually raise a really good question. If your Paladin is such that there is no natural mount for it, what does one do with that particular class ability...

Didn't you read Harry Potter? Riding a centaur is disgraceful! :D

In a 3rd party Paladin sourcebook, it says that you can swap out your Special Mount for an extra Smite Evil attempt, or to use Lsy on Hands as though you were 2 levels higher, so those may be acceptable for centaur paladins.

the trade of the special mount ability for some hps of some damage does not seem fair.. maybe if both were applied.. The special mount is so usefull later on.. but that just me.

As for the Paladin mount, I think it should either get a celestial rider, or it should gain the mount bonuses itself (where applicable).

No, since centuar-like creatures are treated as having Mounted Combat for purposes of meeting prerequisits of things such as Spirited Charge.
