| Suzaku45504-15-06, 03:05 AM | The Tellus was once a high tech empire which controlled the entire world before being destroyed leaving behind many ruins magical items and the Centurions. Centurions appear to be made of unique metals known as Star metal usually chromed in color. The head of a centurion golem is a helmet with a back visor with a red light moving side to side. Unlike normal golems centurions doesn’t seemed to be hallowed instead filled with complex machinery tubes made by skill craft man who’s secrets are lost to the ages and doesn’t seem to be embody with magic as other golems. Centurions are often found in ruins patrolling or performing orders from people long dead, centurions tend to follow orders without question. Despite their large size golems are highly maneuverable and capable of using complex tactics with other centurions even without using verbal or somatic communications preferring to use range combat using equipment made from old Tellus Empire know as MR8. If a combatant threatens with melee a centurion is capable of releasing a blue energy shaped as a long blade such as a bastard sword out from their right wrist. Stats Medium Construct Hit dice 14d10+45 hp Initiative: +12 Speed: 30ft Armor Class 32 (12 Dex + 10natural) touch 22, flat foot 20 Base attack/Grapple 12/24 Attack: MR8 +26 range (2D6+10 piercing) Energy blade: 24 (1d10+12 slashing +1d6 electric) Saves: ???? what should they be? Environment: Any Organization: Gang (2-10) Challenge Rating: ? Treasure: None Alignment: Always lawful neutral Language: Tellus Combat: Centurions are never alone everywhere one goes there is always another centurion not far behind. Centurions are skillful tacticians communicating rapidly through non verbal or somatic means although there are cases where an ancient Tellus device can disrupt their communication thus forcing centurions to speak Tellus to communicate their battle plans. Centurions prefer taking cover and attacking from distance, when forced to retreat centurions often leapfrog where runs to a certain location turns around provide cover fire for their ally to run past them. Another form combat tactics is to attack with group of 2 two and then retreat to the rest of group where ambush is awaiting for their pursier. More often then not a group of centurions are often guarding ancient Tellus ruins for several centuries because it was their last given order. Some centurions are specialized in other areas such as a few centurions who excel in hiding and shooting at distance enemies silently. While others are equipped with a MG4 attached under their GR8 capable of launching small metal ball that explodes on impact or small metal ball capable releasing an area effect spell such as fireball. Centurions take great care using their weapons never shooting at targets they know they can’t hit because extreme ammo shortages. Centurions racial modifier -15 to swim -5 move silently –5 hide Fast healing: Centurions are capable of restoring damage although they’re limited to how much they can restore without reloading their auto repair with spare material. Camouflage: for 10 minutes/2d6 a centurion may change their basic color scheme to match their surroundings providing 10 unnamed hide bonus. Although some centurions especially those who are programmed to shoot at distance targets are capable of much longer periods of camouflage. Suggestions such saves, CR suggestion or any thing you wish to say. |
| Vasquine_DeTsar04-15-06, 07:32 AM | If it's a construct, then it probably shouldn't have an Int score, unless you're aiming for an "Inevitable" type thing. Int scores generally imply that the creature can show initiative and develop skills, so if this construct is only versed in combat tactics and the like, it should have a much lower Int, let's say, five, but a high Wisdom score, such as fifteen. |
| savant_warlord1304-15-06, 08:34 AM | keep the intelligence score, but this is no golem |
| Romulus LoneWolf04-15-06, 11:40 AM | Centurions appear to be made of unique metals known as Star metal usually chromed in color. The head of a centurion golem is a helmet with a black visor with a red light moving side to side. Lemme guess.. they respond to orders by saying "By your Command"? ;) |
| KingGolem05-06-06, 01:49 AM | Yeah, a golem is supposed to be made out of simpler stuff, hence its roots in the Hebrew word "gole" which to my understanding means raw materials. |
| XanderDoervs05-06-06, 03:02 AM | I think they would be like the warforged, using the Living Construct subtype. |
| pileobone05-06-06, 04:52 AM | Hit dice 14d10+45 hp +45? Where is this coming from? As a medium sized construct he should have +20 bonus hit points. If he's getting bonus hit points from somewhere else somehow you need to include that. Also, please add in his average hp. So, unless he's supposed to have some kind of ability/feat/whatever thats giving him about double the bonus hit points he should be getting this should look more like: Hit Dice: 14d10+20 (97 hp) Initiative: +12 Correct, but...damn! Base attack/Grapple 12/24 Constructs get a cleric BAB which is 3/4 HD. So: Base attack/Grapple +10/+22 Attack: MR8 +26 range (2D6+10 piercing) Energy blade: 24 (1d10+12 slashing +1d6 electric) Hmm, well...wtf is an MR8? I must assume it's some manner of Crossbow like device, that it qualifies for Crossbow Sniper? Also, what does Crossbow Sniper do? Anyway, I"ll just assume you have your bonuses all added up correctly. Also, don't forget that since he is using a weapon he gets iterative attacks from his BAB. So: Attack: MR8 +24 ranged (2d6+10) or Energy blade +24 (1d10+12 and 1d6 lightning) Full Attack: MR8 +24 ranged (2d6+10) or Energy blade +24/+19 (1d10+12 and 1d6 lightning) Saves: ???? what should they be? Constructs have no good saves, so: Saves: Fort +4, Ref +16, Will +6 Special qualities: Construct traits, damage reduction 10/adamantine, dark vision, spell resistance 20, low vision light, heat vision, immunities (death spells and mind effecting) 10fast healing (up to total of percentile row of hp) camouflage. What is the range of their darkvision? And what exactly does heat vision do, in game terms? Obviously it lets them see heat, but how does that affect the game? Also, you don't really need to list that they are immune to deat and mind affecting spells, we know :P 10fast healing (up to total of percentile row of hp) Do what now? I have no idea what you are talking about. Abilities: 34, Dex 34 Con ---, Int 18, Wis 14, Cha 10 Great green-gravy biscuits in the morning! Does it really need that kind of Str and Dex? Also, it's Int strikes me as really high too. You don't need an 18 Int to be able to coordinate attack patterns. Just check the stats of commander npc's  Feats: Pointblank Shot, Greater Weapon focus (MR8), Weapon focus (MR8) Weapon specialization (MR8) Greater Weapon specialization (MR8), Crossbow Sniper, Exotic weapon proficiency (MR8), Exotic weapon proficiency (MG4) track Precise Shot. A 14 HD creature gets 5 feats. He has 10. Oh, and there's no need to give him weapon proficiencies, he gets those automatically. So thats knocks off two unecessary feats. Down to 8. And I'm pretty sure these guys don't qualify for Weapon Specialization as I'm not seeing any Fighter class levels anywhere. Dunno what to tell you about their CR. I would get a little more indepth and helpful with this, but it's 4 AM here....and my thinking processes are lagging well behind by now. |
