05-16-07, 04:14 PM I'm not sure... I think they are just ordinary spiked chains. That would make sense since the chain devil has ranks in the craft(blacksmithing) thing.

Edit: Yarrr, I'm wrong. The chains it wields have a crit range of 20 (it took the feat to get it to 19-20). So they could either be improvised weapons or count as 'natural weapons'.

That statement is somewhat ambiguous because a creature's natural weapons and armor can be described in the same way.

I personally think the chains are separate objects but the kyton's control allows them to be used as natural weapons and armor.

However, even if they are separate objects, the way the chains are massed and draped all around the kyton makes me think they would be useless as weapons or armor to anyone lacking telekinetic control over chains.

I'll throw my weight behind that judgement as well. The chains are literally parts of and extensions of the Kyton itself. It might be possible to rip away or sever some of the chains from its being, but there will always be more coiling up from within.
