hi all,
i am quite missing all the chickens from over the old board.

i would like to put out a challenge:

take this chicken:

CHICKEN
Tiny Animal
Hit Dice: 1/4 d8 (1 hp)
Initiative: +2
Speed: 10 ft. (2 squares), fly 5 ft. (clumsy)
Armor Class: 14 (+2 size, +2 Dex), touch 14, flat-footed 12
Base Attack/Grapple: +0/–13
Attack: Claws +4 melee (1d2–5)
Full Attack: Claws +4 melee (1d2–5)
Space/Reach: 2-1/2 ft./0 ft.
Special Attacks: —
Special Qualities_ -
Saves: Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +2
Abilities: Str 1, Dex 15, Con 10, Int 2, Wis 14, Cha 6
Skills: Listen +3, Spot +5
Feats: Weapon Finesse
Environment: All
Organization: All
Challenge Rating: 1/6
Advancement: —
(based on raven in SRD 3.5)

now put as many templates on it as you like to.
the challenge is to make the most powerful chicken available. dont stretch the rules too much (please dont use half-this half that half-another, poor chicken wont know where to get the other 5 halfs) and stay within the rules.

within the rules does not mean it has to be imaginable as reality. for a half-dragon chicken i dont want to know the daddy but its allowed.

please list the order of templates and the typechanges accordingly, this is the tricky part since many templates can not be applied to all types.

material:
core, splat, OA, FR, DLCS.
no 3rd party, no dragon.

btw, this is, of course, fun. if you dont like fun, dont think this is funny or just dont like to have powerful chickens hanging around please complain accordingly.

happy templating,

Dire Chickens are a horror to behold, and infamous amongst fowl farmers. Dire Chickens are about the size of a large dog, such as a Great Dane or Irish Wolf Hound. They are also very wide and fat, like most poultry. They have spiny beaks, dirty feathers and barbed claws on their toes. Adventurers are occasionally paid to find one of these beasts for a feasting hall, for its meat supposedly makes the greatest chicken risotto on any plane.

Chickenfolk are a noisy and unorganized people. Many are inexplicably jumpy or alert, often flicing at any movement, friend or foe. They stand around 2 ft. tall and (at a distance) basicly look like large chickens wearing clothes. On closer inspection however their wings end with a humanoid talon, which is as manually dextrous as any human hand.

i am pretty sure i got a few wrong numbers over there, if you feel like spending a few hours checking them do it.

please give me some cookies,
i am quite hungry after spending quite some time with crystalkeep and sourcebooks.

i look forward to somebody beating me on my own contest, hope i made it hard enough.

wow, i just got some tip.
one can add psionic for really really endless abilities. like:
schism, fission, imp biofeedback, fate of one, impfly, temporal velocity, dissolution, true telekinesis and some others. (increase size by 100% as one, another for teleport)

i am not really into psionics, but it seems that my chicken got some real powerboost with this one.

*) i did not look at CR and integrated some templates that dont get much. without significant losses you can lower the CR by 5 to 10...

if you hear somebody talking about his real powerful, outmunched character ask him to beat a chicken for you :)

Im not sure if this one will comply with the rules i used some splat books and the ELH. If not no worries i still had a blast making Boko. Let me know how evil i am

Boko the Lonely chicken

Background: In Boko’s early life he lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere he was the best chicken around always the best in show and the most admired. Suddenly in time his innate spellcasting powers began to manifest themselves. First he set the chicken coop on fire, then he blew up the farmers house, but the turning point was when Boko disintegrated the farmer. After the death of the farmer Boko went off on a long journey and learned more from his arcane powers, a journey that still continues today.

Tactics: Boko is an evil chicken, after attaining demilichdom he went out into his home world and found there were not many chickens, so Boko decided to change that. Today Boko travels the world with his undead army using his Baleful polymorph, tenacious magic, and permanency combination to turn the worlds populace into chickens like him. For the most part Boko is very lonely and misunderstood but all the thousands of adventurers that have tried to stop him always approach with violent means and end up either turning into chickens that get charmed or being burned, frozen, electrified, and melted. If only someone would be nice to Boko his reign of terror may end.

You know I dont think I'll look at chickens in the same way for a very long time!

Hunan is a 150' foot tall fire-breathing chicken. 'Nuff said.

Combat:
Hunan prefers to start off combat against other kaiju with its breath weapon and then closes in with its claws and beak. Against smaller opponents, Hunan enjoys crushing its enemies under its taloned feet. When feeling particularly destructive, Hunan casts Whirlwind.

Trample (Ex): 4d12+7 damage; garagantuan or smaller, Reflex save (DC 53) halves the damage.

Breath Weapon (Su): 100 ft line of fire; 10 feet tall and 10 feet wide; 10d6 fire damage; Reflex save (DC 50) halves the damage.

Energized Attack (Su): All of Hunana's natural attacks deal an extra 3d6 points of fire damage for 1d4 rounds.

Shockwave (Ex): Stomps the fround and causes a tremor. All creatures within 100 feet must make Reflex saves (DC 52) or fall prone.

Whirlwind (Su): Hunan can cast the spell whirlwind once per day as a 20th level sorcerer.

if you manage to get all this casting with a template instead of class-levels i would be really impressed.

anybody up to creating a cool undead chicken?
i spent enough time adding templates for some days.

other ideas:
symbiontic. add in another creature :)
tauric. if you manage to get your chicken to the right size you can do crazy things.

i dont know how to get a chicken to medium size though, without listed advancement i did not find a way.

Suppose you have an awakened chicken sorcereress attacked by a red slaad. The resulting green slaad is then marooned on a dune-covered isle, where she becomes a Queen of the Wild who dabbles in witchcraft. And thus you have....

why can't you add multiple halves? they are just templates, if you want to get technical just say its part-this part-that part-etc. part-etc.

in my opinion a quarter dragon would not get the same abilities as a half-dragon.

if you are only 1/16th celestial you may be some aasimar instead.

i count 10 half-templates (not running golems).

bow you would have a base-creature, in this case chicken.

1/11th chicken, 1/11th dragon...

i can see that there is no actual rule against it,
but i think i dont want to have a 1/11th chicken.

my chicken is half a troll, you dont want to know they story for this, but since trolls have regeneration and the chicken being only gargantuan...

anyhow:
i put the rules. no more then one half.
(half-golem is again something different)

not followed the rules.

getting slaaded, polymorphed etc. does not count for a good chicken.

still waiting for the first humanoid chicken that waits to make a long way taking all the humanoid templates.

and, btw, anybody up for some divine chicken?

all these chickens over here are willing to pray to the greater chicken.

add in some outsider-HD, around 20 :-)
add in some divine rank

please continue

Half-Dragon (Dragon)
Axiomatic (Dragon) (MotP)
Corrupted (Aberration) (BoVD)
Monstrous Vampire (Undead Aberration)(Ghostwalk)
Spellstitched (Undead Aberation)(MMII)

The only way to get a decent undead CR with anything close to core is to use the Ghostwalk monstrous vampire template - which isn't a big deal, just applies the vampire template to any non-outsider basically. Not nearly as cool as the Ultra-Power, but also doesn't use anything Epic. BoVD might be out - but corrupted just seemed so cool with the undead theme!

SQ~
Partial construct: Immune to poison and disease, considered one size larger for death from massive damage. 1/2 damage from subdual attacks. Can be healed with a successful Craft (Metalworking) check as well as Heal. Gains a +4 resistance bonus to saves against mind-affecting effects.
Programmed: The Cyber-CHICKEN is programmed to obey it's creator as if under the effects of a "Dominate monster" spell cast by a 20th level wizard.

(This was constructed with only the Half-machine template from Dungeon 91. A Titanic Kaiju version may be forthcoming)

as for rules and stuff:

i didnt want to steal anybodys fun.

i interpret the rules in the way that a half-ogre/half-celestial is either an ogre with the half-celestial template or a celestial with the half-ogre template, not a creature with both templates.

if you have fun making chickens with 10 halves go on, i know that there are quarter chickens, i can buy them at the local grill, so i am convinced...

and btw, do you know a famous t-shirt often worn by cows?

It says so specifically in the description. If you somehow managed to put the Titanic template on twice, the chicken would still be Gargantuan.
