An ability that I thought of to make up for it is the ability to break up into a puddle of water, pretty much like Gaseous Form but without the ability to fly. What does everyone else think of this ability, and can people suggest a daily limit on how often they can transform, or should it be at will? And does anyone else have a good idea on what to replace the Drench and Vortex abilities? Should those help to grant at will Liquid Form, or should I find another ability? |

They would lose this going into puddle form. Another ability would be to be able to have fast healing or even a temporary size increase from being in water(I used the size increase, but thats simple in the other system). High pressured jets of water and other attacks also become avaliable when in water. This was a PC however, so having it be complicated is acceptable. They might later gain desert wind like abilities, only water based. Plus I have a nice evil idea to deal with them. It involves a hidden grate, a large pot, a lid, fire elementals who can weld really quickly, and boiling. This sort of stuff is a good counter to puddle form, so its not like it is incredibly powerful. |

Your plan on dealing with them is a little too complicated, when we've got the simple idea of using Horrid Wilting. So how does this sound: in place of Drench, Vortex, and Water Mastery, the Water Elemental can turn into a puddle of water, functioning similarly to Gaseous Form except that their base speed drops to 10 ft, and there is no fly speed, and gain the ability to fire a jet of water that is functionally identical to a 1st level Warlock's Eldritch Blast, and stacks with levels of warlock to determine Eldritch Blast damage? |
