darklogic 11-09-05, 04:11 AM	It seems pretty clear how to alter the CR when you change HD type. However, level adjustment when making a new monster this way seems quite difficult. How much does level adjustment change when altering hit dice to better hit dice? I realise that certain template accomplish this, but what I'm trying to accomplish is a basic change of a creature's type as a playable monster race? What good rules of thumb are there on this matter?
Seraph of Babel 11-09-05, 08:17 AM	Depends on the types involved. Also, remember that changing types will result in more than just HD changes. Oh, and by "altering hit dice to better hit dice", I'm assuming that you mean something like changing 4d8 to 4d10.
