| KitsuneSoup08-31-03, 07:18 AM | This interesting thing occured with our game last night. The party's bard was attacked by a chaos beast, and she somehow missed the saving throw for the corporeal instability. She's level 10, with a Charisma of 20, yet somehow was having a great deal of trouble managing the Charisma DC 15 to stave off the effects, as well. Things were looking bad. Eventually, they realized that they weren't going to save her. After a brief discussion of the effects and a few problems, they killed her, cast gentle repose, and began to trek back to a temple to have her raised. The reason why she was killed are outlined below, as questions for all of you: 1.) When a person runs out of Wisdom, he are transformed into a chaos beast himself. What is the character's home plane? Is it the Prime where the man was born, or is it Limbo where chaos beasts come from? Basically, is it a Outsider or Outsider [Native]? 2.) They killed her with the intention of bringing her back. Then they realized that they would have to kill her before the transformation was complete, because the reincarnate spell they were going to use would preserve her mind, and she'd still be an insane wreck of a chaos beast. Does that make sense? More later... KitsuneSoup |

It's a better idea to just run away. That corporeal instability thing is just too much of a risk, and too hard to deal with. - Brian |
