Charisma Based Saves? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-13-05, 10:29 AM Quick question;
When I see a power under a monster description and it says something along the lines of 'Character must make a Fortitude Save vs. DC 26 to avoid this power. Save is Charisma based.'

What exactly does that mean?

Does it mean that I have to have the character use his Charisma modifier for his Fortitude save instead of Constitution?

Or does it mean that the monster used it's Charisma score modifier to determine the DC of the Fortitude save?

This one :cool:

Basically most save DC's are 10 + half the creature's HD + mod of stated stat, though there may be additional modifiers like with the Ability Focus feat (http://srd.pbemnexus.com/monsterFeats.html) that adds +2 to the save.
