DM must not like us very much lately. He has leash out a Giant size Chernal Hound on the group(mostly lvl 9-12). It is capable of teleport and with its only weakness is natural sunlight. Can anyone suggest some strategy to try to take down the animal without us become its latest breakfast bits?

The group are thinking of attacking the Chernal hound a little bit before dawn, so if we can corner him long enough, we can force him to stay out under the sun.

Giant Size = Gargantuan ???

Dimensional Anchor will prevent it from fleeing with his teleport ability. Attaking just before dawn or during the day is a great idea and it'll give you an edge if it succeeds.

It would however help if you could be a little more specific about what characters you have.

1. Paladin - 12 lvl with an unicorn companion
2. Rouge - 11 lvl - lightly armor fighter rouge, specialized in human
3. Wizard - 11 lvl - specialized in Necromancy
4. Wizard /rouge - 10/02 lvl- that is me
5. Rouge - 10 lvl - model after dhampir, specialized in undead
6. Priest - 9 lvl
7. Fighter sorcerer – 9 lvl

Currently the chernal hound has max hit dice. We have the magic item needed to reduce his hit dice to regular size. We need to feed the item to his mouth. (Can we say, human snack with a side order of magic item?)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Summon something and have it dive into the Hound's mouth with the item.
