Beholder questions:

If a swallowed creature chooses NOT to cut his way out of the stomach and does subdual damage from the inside faster than the acid and chewing does to him, is he able to essentially beat the beholder to death from the inside?

If he is allowed to do this, he is not attacking the gizzard, which is much lower AC, and therefore is attacking the creature at its normal exterior AC - yes?

Is the beholder able to use its antimagic eye to affect a swallowed creature? I guess a better way to put it is: Are the internal guts within the range of the antimagic field?

Alright, first of all I can't find the entry that says beholders have the swallow whole ability, but assuming it did I would say that the character could beat it to death from the inside. If the creature were somehow immune to acid damage it might even be a preferable area, away from the eye rays.
I would say that they still have the lesser AC, maybe even less, because instead of trying to find a soft place to cut themselves out they are just striking all around. Unless you rule that to deal significant damage they have to attack a certain area, because that would increase the AC.
As for the antimagic ray, I would say that the ray cannot reach any creature inside of it because to deactivate its eye ray it just closes its eye, which leads me to believe that the beholder's body blocks antimagic.

It was a "Hive Mother" from the Lords of Madness book. The character is a cheesy, high level monk with Kensai levels and a saint template. If the antimagic eye could have cut off his (ex) powers, he wouldn't have camped inside the thing. Before he knocked it unconscious, it (they) flew into a gate back to the hive in the Demon Wastes. Meanwhile, the rest of the party is in some subterranean level in the Mournlands. Oops! hehe. I think I score it as I got him before he got me.

Ah, see hive mothers are different. Beholders are their own type, just like you wouldn't say beholder when fighting a gauth.
But I think it still applies.

...wow this is definately...a strange conversation. How would you hurt the creature from the inside. It says the only damage you can do while in the gizzard is slashing damage. and even if you have the feat to do whatever kind of damage, you are esseintially in its stomach. I don't think you should be able to deal non lethal damage from the inside

The only damage type you can use to GET OUT is slashing or piercing. It doesn't say that the gizzard and surrounding internals are immune to other forms of attack. The character is an unarmed striker with no martial weapons.

that's just a great image in my mind, as the beholder is attacking the rest of the party, it just suddenly falls to the ground and the swallowed character crawls out of the mouth with no clothing....

Additionally, has anyone come up with a set of rules to throw up swallowed creatures/characters? Something thought out and sane, please.

I've not put alot of thought into it yet, but perhaps a Will save based on creatures HD vs. swallowed creatures HD or damage dealt, etc.
