Chi? (the AI of golems and mending them to your will) [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-22-03, 02:50 PM okay i wanna make a character who likes to make golems. Now my characters goal is to make a human female golem much like chi. Chi is a female robot from an anime called "Chobits". She was an extremly cute girl who looks like shes 16or 18 and acts like shes 5. Shes extremly cute, speaks in third person, and can only learn things from her enviorment. However she always protects her master. My question is, if my character ISNT a crazy mad hell bent scientist and wants to make this golem simply for a cute female protector (but never really had it good with the ladies), how would he go by making a golem that acts like i describbed without it being evil?

06-22-03, 03:01 PM Firstly, don't make it a golem, simply make some other kind of construct. Golem creation involves a generally malicious act. (see link in sig). Secondly, such a creation task seems fairly straightforward. You will probably have to invent a new kind of construct. The savage species "awaken construct" spell would probably be required in the animation ritual. What exactly do you mean by "she can only learn things from her environment"?

06-22-03, 03:10 PM i mean that she cant really have things installed on to her, you cant just give her a book and expect her to memorize it, you read her something and hten after you read it she'll understand not only the book but the act of reading. Plus can anyone help me come up with a list of what i would need to do to be able to make constructs like this? skills? feats? items? supplies? spells? classes?

06-22-03, 03:39 PM So the idea is that it's a construct that learns and aquires knowledge the same way a human does. It will probably require a fair amount of gp worth in raw materials for starters. The creation will require the feat craft wonderous item. You'll need levels in a spellcasting class, probably wizard/cleric combo. Spells required for the animation ritual will most likely include awaken construct (from savage species), charm monster, animate object, and limited wish.
