| Skritz_the_Lizardmen08-23-07, 10:22 AM | Yup, do chicken exist as monster? |
| Naderion08-23-07, 10:30 AM | Just take the stats for a Raven. Bird of about the same size, should do the trick. |
| NobodyRemembersThis08-23-07, 04:48 PM | Don't forget to remvoe the fly speed, and give it the Ferocious ability (chicken with its head cut off running around and all of that). :P My players are trying to badger me into a Dire Chicken (Read: Chocobo) as a mount. :nonono: |
| lint trap08-23-07, 08:01 PM | My players are trying to badger me into a Dire Chicken (Read: Chocobo) as a mount. :nonono: Terror Birds from MMII might work for this. |
| Prince Vine08-23-07, 08:35 PM | There were stats for the chocobo in one an issue of Dragon, don't know which one off the top of my head though. |
| LordWinter08-23-07, 09:50 PM | I had a second ed necromancer do a terrible thing with chickens. In the necromancers handbook there was a spell called animate dead animals it was a first level spell. So instead of buying gear I noticed hey chickens are 2cp each... hrrrm then once reaching 5th level there was a spell that was similar to the destruction retribution feat except instead of going off the HD of the monster it went off caster level. Now pair that with a spell I think was called corpse watch or as it is known now eyes of the zombie and magic mouth and TADA! you have your very own undead fly by wire rockets. There are ways to do this in 3rd ed but I have yet to find a WOTC version of the animate dead animal spell. |
| lint trap08-23-07, 09:59 PM | I had a second ed necromancer do a terrible thing with chickens. Same here, but I don't want to talk about it. |
| Slayer_Dragonwing08-24-07, 02:15 PM | There are ways to do this in 3rd ed but I have yet to find a WOTC version of the animate dead animal spell. Though it's not official material, there was a book by Mongoose Publishing called the Encyclopedia Arcane: Necromancy - Beyond the Grave. It has Animate Animal as a 0 level spell. It's a great series, offering options for most of the schools of magic to make them more viable as specilization choices. |
| ArgulFraster08-29-07, 10:15 PM | Same here, but I don't want to talk about it. Bwahahahaha. |
| The Vorpal Tribble08-30-07, 04:40 PM | Gamecock (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=12279895&postcount=3) Will this do? It's one of those roosters that are trained to fight. Also have a Spitfire Cockerel (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=12306157), but he's a special breed ;) |
| darkneolink08-30-07, 04:46 PM | Just remember one thing... if you hit a single chicken enough times... all the chickens from a 400 miles radius will come to kill you as per the dimensional door spell :cookie: take it if you get the reference |
| ArgulFraster08-30-07, 08:34 PM | Just remember one thing... if you hit a single chicken enough times... all the chickens from a 400 miles radius will come to kill you as per the dimensional door spell :cookie: take it if you get the reference Cuccos, my friend. Legend of Zelda-OoT, Link's Awakening, nearly all the Game Boy ones save the NES reissues, as well as being replaced by pigs in Wind Waker. |
| Sildatorak08-30-07, 10:41 PM | Do I still get the cookie if I got the reference but was beaten to saying it? Great, now I miss my gameboy and wonder where it is. |
| Varl08-31-07, 12:11 AM | If someone stats the chicken, don't forget to include the chicken's real special ability: botulism. Bawk! |
| tripleee6908-31-07, 12:30 AM | Their is no greater threat then a chicken with greater rage and rabies:eek: |
| Slayer_Dragonwing09-08-07, 12:20 AM | Just remember one thing... if you hit a single chicken enough times... all the chickens from a 400 miles radius will come to kill you as per the dimensional door spell :cookie: take it if you get the reference Whooo hooooo, first cookie:D |
| Lefty09-08-07, 02:35 PM | How about an army of undead chickens? Look up **** thrush or fowl or maybe domesticated animals. About the necromancy thing, how did that get involved, stat changed are in the cleric players manual sections, probably they would be faster and have the ability to stun and only come out at night. And slaying them would not be easy, chickens have very small hearts, you should have the size advantage though, unless you are playing a cat or maybe a beaver or badger. Lefty |
| Prime3209-08-07, 04:23 PM | I remamber a story about a "were-chicken" who could command chickens. Just one gold piece buys an army of 500 chickens :D |
| Lefty09-11-07, 12:58 PM | How about _Giant Chicken_????? (A slightly altered Giant Bass from the Expert Rule Book, Dungeon Masters Guide, TSR 1983) (I imagine that not everybody has a rubber crate of old rule books...) Giant Chicken Armor Class 7 Hit Dice 2 Attacks/Damage 1-6 THACo* 18 Treasure none Size 4' Number Appearing 1-12 Xp 20 Normally shy, if a morsel fo food is nearby, Giant Chickens will attack by scratching at the ears and eyes. *THACo was not in use at that time |
| Lefty09-11-07, 01:01 PM | Ahhh, about suggesting that anyone should look up "****"...I suppose I should have written Game Bird... Lefty |
| General_Ridley09-12-07, 12:57 AM | I'll stat one out quick: Bucket o' Chicken Tiny Undead Hit dice: 1d12 (6 hp) Initiative: +0 Speed: -- Armor Class: 12 (+2 size), Touch 12, Flat Footed 12 Base Attack/Grapple: +0/-12 Attack: none Full Attack: none space/reach: 2.5 ft./0 ft. special attacks: Food poisoning special qualities: tasty, Two Servings, undead traits Saves: Fort +0, Ref +0, Will +2 Abilities: Str 2 Dex 10 Con -- Int -- Wis 10 Cha 16 skills: none Feats: none Environment: on a table CR: 1 Treasure: none Alignment: Neutral Advancement: (2-5 HD tiny, 6-10 HD small ) [B]LA: - A small bucket sits across from you temptingly, doing nothing in particular, but it has already hooked you. You want to eat what's inside. A Bucket o' Chicken is an appealing sort of undead, ready and willing to become your next meal. Food Poisoning (Ex): Upon ingestion, a creature that eats a Bucket o' Chicken must make a DC 13 Fortitude save or take 1d6 Con damage. In all documented cases, this is the Fortitude save that must be made under the effect of the Bucket o' Chicken's Tasty ability. Tasty (Su): The aroma of a Bucket o' Chicken is so overpowering that any creature that decides to eat it takes a -3 penalty to fortitude saves for the duration of the round, due to their conditioned willingness to eat it. This penalty is always equal to the Bucket o' Chicken's charisma score (should you use a Big Bucket o' Chicken and have upped the Charisma). Two Servings (Ex): It takes two move actions to eat a Bucket o' Chicken. Thus forcing two Fortitude saves due to Food Poisoning. Somehow I don't think it's what you had in mind, but it works. I put it at CR 1 since it could potentially kill a first level character. |
| NobodyRemembersThis09-12-07, 11:02 AM | I can not believe Ted the Flayer is still around. I remember when Fixxxer came up with that. |
| General_Ridley09-12-07, 11:58 AM | well, I am the one who passed on the tale of his fatherhood of Mialee. |
| NobodyRemembersThis09-12-07, 01:31 PM | So it was Ted responsible for that abomination. He should definitely not be proud of it. |
| Khael09-12-07, 06:01 PM | Given how many times she's appeared... methinks he is. And Fixxxer?! You mean BeyondFated and WeZil surely... (May sound harsh given it was a throwaway comment, but I reckon credit where credits due. Or retribution. Either is good) Anyway, everyone knows the true weapon of the chicken... Chicken pox, the disease by which they will transform us all and rule the planet! ... Clearly I should never be allowed, by law, to watch Dexter's lab EVER again. |

Does a Buckit 'O Chicken have any other attacks? |
| General_Ridley09-12-07, 07:57 PM | None that are known. Most people just eat a bucket of chicken and leave it at that. |
| Sildatorak09-12-07, 09:30 PM | None that are known. Most people just eat a bucket of chicken and leave it at that. Even if it kills them, at least they have chicken. |
| Xanaphia_Undomiel09-13-07, 04:32 AM | Chickens are awesome!!! I don't have stats for chickens, but my cleric charater uses these spells: Minor Bless Chicken Evocation Level: Clr 0 Components: Mental Area: 50ft+10ft/level Casting Time: See text Range: Infinte This spell looks after 100 + 10 per caster level chickens for 1 day. It supplies them with protection, food, and collects their eggs and places them in a place inside the area. Focus: A chicken feather. Major Bless Chicken Evocation Level: Clr 2 Components: Mental Area: 100ft+20ft/level Casting Time: See text Range: Infinte This spell looks after 200 + 30 per caster level chickens for 1 day. It supplies them with protection, food, and collects their eggs and places them in a place inside the area, or gives them to a person who goes to the pen and throws money in. The money is placed in a container in the yard. I sell eggs using Major Bless Chicken for 1 cp a dozen. At level 6, that's 480 chickens, on average 440 lay, that's 36 cp a day. When my character idles, she can make about 1 gp a day. I mainly do it for fun. |
| Prime3209-13-07, 01:18 PM | Even if it kills them, at least they have chicken. nnnnnnLEEEEROYYYYYY JENKINNNNNNNNSSS! |
