| Prime3208-18-06, 11:51 AM | And here are the Chozo Ghosts. These were once Chozo with the enlightened template (coming soon) but their bodies were slowly corrupted by Phazon, forcing them back to the Material Plane and driving them insane. http://www.samus.co.uk/images/mprime/scans/creatures/chozo_ghost.jpg http://metroid-eu.com/prime_creatures/chozoghost.jpg Yeah, I know it says aberration, but they don't play D&D Chozo Ghost Medium Undead (Evil, Incorporeal*) Hit Dice: 8d12 (50 hp) Initiative: +3 Speed: 40 ft. (6 squares) Armour Class: 17 (+3 Dex, +4 deflection), touch 17, flat-footed 14 Base Attack/Grapple: +4 Attack: – Full Attack: – Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Spell-like abilities Special Qualities: Insanity, Undead traits, Spell-like abilities Saves: Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +10 Abilities: Str -, Dex 16, Con -, Int 14, Wis 6, Cha 18 Skills: Climb +14, Jump +14, Listen +9, Spot +9 Feats: Alertness, Dodge, Empower Spell-like ability (magic missile) Environment: Mountains or underground Organisation: Solitary or ward (2-6) Challenge Rating: Treasure: None Alignment: Always neutral evil Advancement: None Level Adjustment: – Spell-like abilities (Sp): At will – invisibility, magic missile. Combat Chozo ghosts are Phazon-corrupted spirits driven solely to protect the ruins of their civilisation from defilers. As such, they seldom leave their chosen site and attack all intruders (even other Chozo) without mercy. * Although Chozo Ghosts are incorporeal, they cannot pass through solid matter (though they lack the strength to manipulate it). They are protected from attacks normally. |
| Return of the Flumph08-18-06, 03:57 PM | You said PEACH, so here goes. First off, you should always come up with a target Challenge Rating before statting up the creature. How tough do you want these guys to be? Also, you seem to have the will save a little mixed up. There is no way an 8 HD monster with a wisdom score of 6 can have a will save bonus of +10; as I recall, undead have 3/4 HD will saves, so it should be +4 (-2 wisdom penalty). That's pretty low, but since chozo ghosts are insane, you should give them the Insanity special quality. Being insane allows you to use your charisma modifier instead of wisdom for will saves, so their total will save would be +10 as statted...but you need to write "Insane" under their SQ. I'm not as sure about this, but I think it should have one more feat than it does. And now, about the SAs and SQs. Depending on how true to the game you want to be, you should give them immunity to all forms of elemental damage. That way, the only reliable way to injure them would be with ghost touch weapons, or force attacks (the power beam is probably a kinetic impact delivered by an energy beam, similar to magic missile). Speaking of magic missile, I'm not sure if that's an accurate reflection of their energy blast attack. I'd give them an all-new ranged attack called "spectral burst" or "phazon bolt" or something like that. Maybe full incorporeality would be better; I think the only reason they made them partially corporeal in the game was to stop them from being impossibly hard. In DnD, killing undead as they reach out of walls to attack is much easier. Just a thought. Finally, about the flavor text. Are you sure the chozo ghosts were guarding the ruins? I thought that phazon madness and metroid prime's dark influence were just causing them to hate and destroy (like everything else on Tallon V). PS: if you want to use chozo ghosts, perhaps you had better stat out the chozo too. |
| Prime3208-18-06, 05:04 PM | Sorry, I meant to include Insanity Aren't they already immune to elemental damage by being incorporeal? And on the last point, no, they defend the Chozo Ruins and the artefacts in their own twisted way. ps. I have statted the Chozo |
