| Soepkommetje03-25-05, 03:07 PM | I just saw in Masters of the Wild that a Dire Elephant has a Climb skill of +23. That would mean that he could climb a brick wall and fail only on a 1. I have a hard time to envision a gargantuan, mammoth-like creature about 9-10 meters tall climb a normal (very sturdy) brick wall for about 60 meters a minute. It strikes as a bit... odd? |
| obrysii03-25-05, 03:10 PM | Yeah, stuff like that is pretty weird. |
| Tyus Kanan03-25-05, 03:35 PM | perhaps only the appearance of a Dire Mouse will cause them to do that. ;) i am lame, yes :) |
| Olly03-25-05, 04:59 PM | Probably a typo. Bare in mind that Masters Of The Wild is an OLD book. |
| The_Fan03-25-05, 05:11 PM | Yeah, it's an error. The Dire Elephant is reprinted in MMII, where the error still stood, but in the 3.5 update booklet they removed the climb. |
| cwslyclgh03-25-05, 05:17 PM | but in the 3.5 update booklet they removed the climb.damn... no more Dire Elephants lurking in trees waiting to leap out in ambush... :nonono: |
| Olly03-25-05, 07:11 PM | Part of me wants to argue about Hannibal and how he brought the elephants over the Alps, but frankly, it seems like a waste of time. Dire elephants being able to climb is just plain old silly. |
| Vatras03-26-05, 06:52 AM | It might be an insider joke about the elephants in Everquest 1, who actually climbed trees :) |
