A ran into a little problem today...I am creating a Gold Dragon with the Vow of Poverty feat (madness I know), and I was wondering how do the DR 5/evil from VoP stack with the DR 10/magic for the dragon?

I would think he'd have two different Damage Reductions, similar to the Barbarian. Dr 5/Evil and DR 10/Magic. Against Unevil magic it'd be DR 5, and against anything else other than Evil magic it'd be DR 10.

Thanks Primus, I thought it would be something like that.

By the DMG 3.5, page 292, I believe it would have DR 10/magic and evil.

No, it just has two DRs, one or both of which might apply depending upon the weapon and the attacker.

How about 15/magic and evil?

As DM you are free to combine them, use them as overlapping or stacking affect. My usual way is 10/magic and evil in such a case.

The Damage Reduction entry on pp 291-292 of the 3.5 DMG should help you out.

The two DRs do not stack, you just have to keep track of them separately. So against magic weapons the DR 5/evil still works and against evil weapons the DR 10/magic still works. Of course, an evil aligned weapon will probably be magic, but what are you gonna do?
