| laurent104-04-07, 06:34 PM | A few days before I posted a thread about the black pudding witch was left unanwsered. I'll try getting more to the point. 1- In the MM, it says that a black pudding it with weapons split into 2 identical version of itself. Does it mean it stays the same size? Because if it do, it would mean that eventually, the party could end up facing dozens of huge sized pudding with only 1 HP. 2-what happens if there is not enough space in the room for the newly created pudding to be in ? 3- in my game, the players though about using glass made weapons to use againts the pudding, thinking that if glass can be made into acid flask, it must be more resistant to acid. Is it correct? And if so, would a glassmade weapons be an effective way to deal with such a creature without reisking loosing the weapon? Thank you all |

Maybe obsidian (if you DO want to use a slashing or piercing weapon against a black pudding) or just "regular" stone (a stone bludgeoning weapon is probably the best idea against a black pudding). -According to the MM wording, a Huge pudding would split into two Huge puddings... Maybe they kind of "dilute" as they split... I find that silly, and I'd houserule that they split into Large creatures. Ah, but thinking about I now see the rationale behind keeping the same size: a decrease in size brings all kinds of modifications into play, which are pretty hard to keep track of if you didn't plan it. Having two identical creatures is simpler, albeit sillier. -If there is not enough room for the pudding to split... Both puddings would be squeezing in a tight space (rules somewhere in the PHB :)). That's assuming you make them split into full-sized creatures. |
