It doesn't seem lethal once you know it's there, it's a really easy kill. Second I really need a better name, this one is kind of lame. Thoughts please. |
| DebiHuman02-09-07, 10:29 AM | I liked it up until you gave it spell-like abilities, which at that level seem a little over-powering for a 1/2 HD creature. Definitely having a spell-like ability 5/day is unusual (generally it is 3/day). I would have lowered the spell caster level (10th level is pretty high) and dropped the Mind Fog altogether. I also don't quite understand the Dex of this creature. A normal toad has a dex of 12 but it has a hide of +21. Did you make this from a template? There are more plant traits that you should take into consideration: * Immunity to all mind-affecting spells or abilities (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects). * Immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning. * Plants breathe and eat, but do not sleep. This critter is a lot tougher than you think. BTW if you are going to put the "*" in the skills, then you should also put the "*" in the reference in the skill section. Debby |
| Fencerboy02-09-07, 06:52 PM | My original thought for this creature was that you become disoriented when you come in contact with it, mostly by stepping on it. I simply wasn't sure how to give it the abilities without making them spell-like abilities. I will gladly change it if someone tells me of a better option. |

It doesn't need to be at will (I mean how often is this thing really going to need to confuse creatures around it?) so 3 times per day should be enough. Go with your initial instincts -- you were better off before you added the overpowering abilities. I keep picturing this thing as chia pet toad which is the point, I think :) Debby |

| Fencerboy02-10-07, 08:15 PM | Actually, I was working on the idea before someone told me I was really close to Spiderwick. I looked at it and took the idea, chewed it up and spat it out in my twisted version. BTW, I don't read spiderwick, I just have the field guide because I try to collect as many different books on magical stuff like that. |
